Vacuum Degasser and Mud Gas Separator

Vacuum Degasser
Application
Gases are entrained in drilling fluid from the wellbore during normal drilling operation as well as during "kick" or well control situations, these gases present safety hazards and create operational problems, in case of the presence of hazardous gases, it is desirable to localize the point where gas is released from the mud by installing a vacuum degasser.

Features & Advantages
1. Absorbing the waste gas with its own power unit independently, without the extra centrifugal pump
2. Can be worked as high power drilling mud agitator
3. Eliminating the corrosion for the solid control equipment, reducing the cost for the maintenance
4. Compact design, saving space
Application
The field-proven KOSUN mud gas separator is an extremely reliable and vital piece of safety equipment for today drilling operations. It is ideal for use where drilling is likely to encounter large volumes of gas, sour gas or when an operator is drilling with an under balanced mud column. The KOSUN mud gas separator is primarily used to separate and safety vent large pockets of free gas, which may include toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide, from the drilling fluid system.

Working Principle
Gas cut drilling fluid flows into mud gas separator through inlet mouth, hitting the impact panel and dispersing on a series of inner baffles, so the exposed surface is increased, then it flows downward to form turbulent flow, and gas will be separated from drilling fluid. Free gas can be discharged from the vent at tank top. The length of gas extraction pipe should be measured and connected on site, and leads to safety area. The degasificate drilling fluid will flow into cycling tank through shale shaker.

Mono Screw Pump Working Principle and Apllication

M ono screw pump , also called  sewage pump  or  progressive cavity pump ,  belongs to the rotor type positive displacement pump .   M ono screw pump  is depend ing  on the screw meshing with liner on the discharge and suction cavity to conveying liquid volume change.   It is a kind of method of pressurized screw pump, a main working parts by bushing has a double helix cavity (stator) and the stator cavity and its meshing singlehead screw screw (rotor).   When the input shaft through the universal joint drive making planets revolving around the center of the stator, rotor stator, rotor, vice is continuous mesh form sealed cavity, the seal chamber volume invariably uniform axial movement, the medium from the suction end of deputy to the stator, rotor pressure side, the suction medium sealed cavity through the stator without stirring and destruction. M ono screw pump  is an ideal pump used to feed drilling fluids to ...

Water Based Mud Drilling Cuttings Management

In  geotechnical engineering ,   drilling fluid is used to aid the drilling of  boreholes   into the earth , o ften used while drilling  oil  and  natural gas  wells and on exploration drilling rigs , and  also for much simpler boreholes  like   water wells . Liquid drilling fluid is often called drilling mud. The three main categories of drilling fluids are water-based mud (which can be dispersed and non-dispersed), non-aqueous mud, usually called oil-based mud, and gaseous drilling fluid, in which a wide range of  gases  can be used. The main functions of drilling fluids include :  providing  hydrostatic pressure  to prevent  formation fluids  from entering into the well bore, keeping the  drill bit  cool and clean during drilling, carrying out drill cuttings, and suspending the drill cuttings while drilling is paused and when the drilling assembly is brought in and out...

Drilling Waste Management Approach and Method

Drilling waste management is a hot topic these years with global attention to environmental protection, especially in O il & gas industry. Drilling waste management  into environment without any treatment is strictly forbidden. So before disposal, a series methods must be introduced to treat the cuttings and make it reach to disposal standard. Drill ing   waste   is  produced as the rock is broken by the drill bit advancing through the rock or soil; the cuttings are usually carried to the surface by  drilling fluid  circulating up from the drill bit   by  rotary ,  percussion , or auger methods. The drill ing waste  is commonly examined to make a record (a  well log ) of the subsurface materials penetrated at various depths. In the oil and gas industry, this is often called a  mud log .   One drilling method that does not produce drill ing   waste  is  core drilling , which instead produces s...
