Screens Types Selection and Usage in Shale Shakers

Solids control equipment shale shakers typically composed of wire mesh shaker screens in kinds of mesh sizes that vibrate the drill waste across and off the shaker screens as the drilling fluid or drilling mud flows through shaker screens in the solids control system and back into mud system.

Usually there are three types of shaker screens for different shale shakers, including PWP screen, PMD screen, and hook strip screen. PMD scree is Derricks patented products for Derrick 2000 series and Derrick 500 series shale shakers. While hook strip screens  and PWP screens are widespread application to world famous shale shakers like brand Derrick, Brandt, M-I SWACO, and KOSUN.
The steel frame shaker screen is the most commonly shaker screens composed of steel frame and two or three layers SS304 cloth. Frame shaker screen is commonly used on shale shakers for its simple process craft and easy and quick replacement. There are two kinds of frame according to the frame material, steel frame and composite frame. Steel frame is made of high strength square steel or flat steel with reinforced support bars.
The screen cloth can be joined to the frame by metal liner or directly bonded to the frame. The composite frame is made of high strength composite such as plastic, fibers, carbon and so on. There are lots of types of frame shaker screens made by different manufacturers like Brandt, M-I SWACO, Derrick and KOSUN.
Hook strip screens is a common kind of shale shakers screen, which can be widely used in different conditions of drill waste operation. This screen is made with two or three layers of SS wire cloth bonded to a steel support plant. KOSUN can supply hook strip flat panel screens with the mesh sizes ranging from mesh 12 to 275.
KOSUN products now also extend to HDD & TBM slurry treatment for infrastructure and oil sludge treatment for petroleum refining industry. With more than 25 years history and over 50 countries clients all over the world, KOSUN has gained great reputation with its high quality and exclusive services.

Mono Screw Pump Working Principle and Apllication

M ono screw pump , also called  sewage pump  or  progressive cavity pump ,  belongs to the rotor type positive displacement pump .   M ono screw pump  is depend ing  on the screw meshing with liner on the discharge and suction cavity to conveying liquid volume change.   It is a kind of method of pressurized screw pump, a main working parts by bushing has a double helix cavity (stator) and the stator cavity and its meshing singlehead screw screw (rotor).   When the input shaft through the universal joint drive making planets revolving around the center of the stator, rotor stator, rotor, vice is continuous mesh form sealed cavity, the seal chamber volume invariably uniform axial movement, the medium from the suction end of deputy to the stator, rotor pressure side, the suction medium sealed cavity through the stator without stirring and destruction. M ono screw pump  is an ideal pump used to feed drilling fluids to ...

Water Based Mud Drilling Cuttings Management

In  geotechnical engineering ,   drilling fluid is used to aid the drilling of  boreholes   into the earth , o ften used while drilling  oil  and  natural gas  wells and on exploration drilling rigs , and  also for much simpler boreholes  like   water wells . Liquid drilling fluid is often called drilling mud. The three main categories of drilling fluids are water-based mud (which can be dispersed and non-dispersed), non-aqueous mud, usually called oil-based mud, and gaseous drilling fluid, in which a wide range of  gases  can be used. The main functions of drilling fluids include :  providing  hydrostatic pressure  to prevent  formation fluids  from entering into the well bore, keeping the  drill bit  cool and clean during drilling, carrying out drill cuttings, and suspending the drill cuttings while drilling is paused and when the drilling assembly is brought in and out...

Drill Cuttings Separation by Shale Shakers

Drilling mud is pumped from the surface through the hollow drill string, exits through nozzles in the drill bit, and returns to the surface through the annular space between the drill string and the walls of the hole.  Drilling fluid is used to control subsurface pressures, lubricate the drill bit, stabilize the well bore, and carry the cuttings to the surface, among other functions. As the drill bit grinds rocks into drill cuttings, these cuttings become entrained in the mud flow and are carried to the surface. In order to return the mud to the mud circulating system and to make the solids easier to handle, the drill cuttings must be separated from the mud. The first step in drill cuttings separation  from the mud involves circulating the mixture of mud and cuttings over vibrating screens called shale shakers. The mud passes through the screens and is circulated back to the mud tanks from which mud is withdrawn for pumping downhole. The d...
