Screens Types Selection and Usage in Shale Shakers

S olids control equipment s hale shakers typically co mposed  of wire mesh  shaker screens  in  kinds of  mesh sizes that vibrate the drill waste  across and off the shaker screens as the drilling fluid or drilling mud flows through shaker screen s   in the solids control system and back into mud system.  Usually there are  three types of shaker screens for different shale shakers, including  PWP screen, PMD screen, and hook strip screen. PMD scree is Derrick ’ s patented products for Derrick 2000 series and Derrick 500 series shale shakers. While hook strip screens  and PWP screens are w idespread a pplication to  world famous shale shakers like brand Derrick, Brandt , M-I SWACO, and KOSUN. The steel frame shaker screen  is the most commonly shaker screens composed of steel frame and two or three  layers SS304  cloth.   Frame shaker screen  is commonly used  on shale shakers for its simple process craft and easy and quick replacement. There are two kinds of frame according t

Solids Control System Equipment Mud Agitator

Application KOSUN mud agitator is part of the drilling fluids solids control equipment ,which is mainly used to agitate and mix the drilling mud to prevent solid particles settlement in circulating tank. Mud agitator is composed of explosion–proof motor, speed reducer, motor base and blade. The connections between motor and speed reducer, speeder reducer and impeller shaft by steel coupling. The impeller is welded by four blades. Structure Mud agitator mainly consists of explosion-proof motor, reducer, motor base and impeller assembly, solid couplings are used to join motor with reducer, and reducer with impeller shaft. Four vanes are installed and welded to form the impeller. Working Principle The impeller makes the fluid in vortex motion and improves the agitation effect. The pallet among the vanes can prevent solid particles in mud from depositing around the lower vanes after shutdown, which reduces the moment of resistance of deposits against the vanes when

Solids Control System Equipment Mud Cleaner

KOSUN high effective mud cleaner is the second or third stage s olids control system equipment of drilling mud , which will deal with the drilling   mud after being treated by the first stage s olids control system equipment. The barite will be recovered and drilling cuttings which are bigger than barite will be removed. Then the barite in the underflow will flow into circulation tanks through the shaker screens when the weighted mud passes while the particles that are bigger than mesh will be removed.   KOSUN desander is used as the second  stage of solids control system for drilling mud, which makes separations between 40 and 100 microns.   KOSUN desilter is used as the thir d stage of solids control system for drilling mud, which make separations between 15 and 44 microns. 1. Polyurethane (PU) Material for desander and desilter cones. 2. Desander cones can be installed between one and three 10 ” desander cones, each cone can process 500GPM and makes a separa

Solids Control Equipment Application in Drilling Waste Management

Drilling waste is unavoidable consequence during  drilling operations. If the  drilling fluid  does not carry cuttings and cavings to the surface, the rig either is not “making hole” or soon will be stuck in the hole it is making. The drill ing   waste  that are separated from the drilling fluid on the surface by the s olids  control equipment  and some quantity of unrecoverable or economically unwanted drilling fluid are a major source of drilling waste. Drilled and formation solids that are sized smaller than can be removed by s olids  control equipment are often reported as drill solids. Some quantity of drill solids will accumulate in the drilling fluid and must be removed by the s olids  control equipment or reduced in concentration by dilution . Before the introduction of mechanical solids   removal equipment, dilution was used to control solids content in the drilling waste management . The typical dilution procedure calls for dumping a portion of the active drilling
